The Honorable Martin C. Faga
With heavy hearts we share the news that The Honorable Martin (Marty) C. Faga left this world on the morning of October 19, 2023, peacefully and surrounded by family.
A founding member of the NSSA Board of Directors, Marty led a life dedicated to public service, family, and friendship. Culminating with his role as Director of the National Reconnaissance Office and Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space, Marty's decades-long career in service to his country touched the lives of thousands and shaped the face of the national security space enterprise.
Lifetime Achievement Award
NSSA was honored to present Marty with the first-ever Pete Aldridge Lifetime Achievement Award in October of last year.
Marty was leadership personified, a calm and dignified presence paired with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired all those around him. Marty leaves behind an extraordinary legacy marked by his leadership, humor, raw intellect, and above all, his humanity.
Today, we honor Marty and reflect with deep gratitude on the gift it was to know him. We join his family, friends, and colleagues in mourning this tremendous loss to the community.
